Attorney Courtney Smith

After graduating from the University of Florida, Courtney H. Smith earned his Doctor of Juris Prudence from Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, Mr. Smith was a member of their nationally recognized trial team, won numerous awards and was recognized as a national champion in trial advocacy. Mr. Smith was also a member of the Black Law Student Association and participated heavily in pro bono activities.

Upon graduating from Stetson, Mr. Smith served as an Assistant State Attorney with the Pinellas County State Attorney's Office. Mr. Smith tried over 60 jury trials and was promoted to the rank of lead trial attorney. He also served as an adjunct professor to new law enforcement recruits, teaching them the basic aspects of criminal law.

Prior to starting Smith & Stallworth, P.A., Mr. Smith worked with two major civil litigation firms that concentrated on nursing home abuse, personal injury, medical malpractice, and products liability. He gained extensive trial experience handling complex medical negligence cases and personal injury matters. As a founding member of Smith & Stallworth, P.A., Attorney Smith has transformed his practice into a litigation firm, concentrating his personal injury work on Wrongful Death and Catastrophic injury cases, and he skillfully handles criminal law matters. He is licensed to practice law before all Florida State Courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

He is currently a partner in the Tampa law firm of SMITH & STALLWORTH, P.A.
